Flat Egg

This morning, breakfast time.

BK2: what is that? (points at BK1's plate)
BK1: flat egg
BK2: ah

Me, thinking: what?

Turns out she translated the French name "œuf au plat". Obviously.

  1. we had the same in our family over the weekend. My daughter asked her French father for a flat egg. funny she should ask it in English to her father since I never make her flat eggs..

  2. I am not too surprised she translated the French and not the German "Spiegelei". In our house, food is mostly a French thing.

Would be fun, though, mirror egg...
